Basic Credit Check

Under the Privacy Act 1988, consumer credit information is only available for the purpose of providing credit. As an alternative, First Advantage will conduct a public record search through our data source provider which will reveal commercial information recorded to an individual. This check will include details of litigation, court judgments (in some states), and current and discharged bankruptcy information recorded to an individual in their commercial capacity.

A basic credit check can offer insight into an individual’s reliability and sense of responsibility. It is recommended for senior management positions and finance roles, and may also be relevant where an individual has access to funds or budgets.
